Not so fast
Put that champagne back on ice, nobody is drinking out of Lord Stanley's mug tonight.
Thanks to a dynamite performance from goalie Marc-Andre Fleury, the Pittsburgh Penguins are clinging to life.
And thanks to a Kirk Gibson-like return for Sergei Gonchar, who shook off the cobwebs from a late hit (he crashed head first into the boards in the third period) to draw the second assist on the overtime winner from Petr Sykora, who picked a fine time to make an appearance in this series, the Penguins cut the deficit to three games to two and are heading back to the Igloo for Game 6.
Granted, it took a late goal from Maxime Talbot (with Fleury on the bench in favour of an extra attacker) just to get to overtime and then the Red Wings simply dominated the first OT.
But the Penguins hung tough and when Jiri Hudler was given a double minor for high-sticking in the third overtime, Pittsburgh cashed in with the man advantage.
There's been plenty of talk about Pittsburgh's young legs and now they're going to need them.
Detroit is a veteran team and you have to wonder how much this loss might have taken out of them?
Perhaps now is when the veteran savvy is about to kick in and the Red Wings will shake off the defeat like it happened in January.
Or maybe, just maybe, it's time for youth to be served.
Because if the Penguins can find a way to win on home ice — where they've lost only once in the last three months — there will be a seventh and deciding game.
For those throwing arrows at Fleury for the soft goal he allowed to Hudler for the game-winner in Game 4, this was a majestic response.
Without those 55 saves from Fleury, this party would have been over.
Instead, it might just be getting started.
