For now, Edward Norton is keeping his anger in check.
The 40-year-old actor is noncommittal about returning as Bruce Banner a.k.a. the Hulk in another Marvel-produced outing.
“My sense of it is that, even back when they were doing the first one, what they wanted to do, as quickly as possible, was blend the characters together in The Avengers. So that’s what they’re aiming for next,” he tells Sun Media during interviews for his TIFF pothead comedy, Leaves of Grass.
Would he be willing to reprise the role he played in last year’s The Incredible Hulk in any such superhero mash-up?
“I think that’s a few steps away. All of us are in the midst of other things. I don’t know if it’s even been written, so it’s a ways off before I should make that decision.”
One thing he doesn’t think will impact any future Marvel productions is the recent purchase of the comics company by Disney. “I’ve had really good experiences (at Disney). They put out the film I directed and they’re a great company. I like a lot of people there. (But) that’s a macro-business decision that doesn’t have much to do with us on the creative end of it.”
