It's a done deal

In a 15-9 vote, council has given the stamp of approval to Lansdowne Live, much clapping, back-slapping, and broad smiles from those on side.
This of course, isn't the end.
It all comes back to council in May.

Too much to take

Capital Coun. Clive Doucet made an emotional, moving speech on Lansdowne Park. Of couse, as he spoke, he knew the deal was done. Doucet cares deeply about Lansdowne Park, about the entire city, and he's spent his time in office trying to make it a better place. With emotion taking over, he couldn't finish what he he wanted to say, breaking down in tears as he knew he and his residents were facing defeat.

Glenn Brooks tips his hand - finally

Add another vote for Lansdowne Live.
Rideau Coun. Glenn Brooks had been refusing to say how he'll vote on Lansdowne Live, waiting for the results of a polling of his ward residents.
Turns out his residents are in favour of it - so he'll be saying yes when the vote is called.

The end appears near

Orleans Coun. Bob Monette was absolutely bursting with pride as he read the motion to support Lansdowne Live.
He deserves the limelight. Monette was first out the gate in both supporting the project and working hard to facilitate it.
"This is history in the making," Monette said.
Well, maybe a little over the top, but given all he's been through, we'll give him that one!
The deal looks like it'll pass, but not before the likes of Bay Coun. Alex Cullen trashes it.

Dancing With the Stars

With dozens of motions on the go, council is now just debating Motion No. 12.
No surprise, both Bay Coun. Alex Cullen and Capital Coun. Clive Doucet want to speak on it.
Does none of this group watch Dancing With the Stars?
