Brad Fritsch of Manotick had a 73 and is four shots back of a qualifying spot after one round at the second stage of qualifying at the PGA Tour's Q-School at the Deerwood G.C. in Kingwood, TX.
Fritsch is tied for 47th with the top 19 spots and ties making it through from this site - one of six - to the final stage of Q-School. J.C. Deacon, a Toronto native, is the top Canadian at Deerwood with a 68 and is tied for sixth. Brantford's David Hearn is tied for 23rd after a 70 and Ben Ferguson of Ancaster is tied for 54th after a 74. Texan Brandt Jobe leads after a 65. The second of four rounds goes tomorrow.
